We all want bathing to be a glorious luxurious experience. So when it comes to designing a luxury bathroom a stylish bath is going to always be a focal point. Choosing the right bath is important. Consider it an investment in your health and well-being.

So, you've bought a lovely new bateau bath. And the time has come to fit it in your newly decorated bathroom. It was all going so well. When you realise....
How do I fit my trap to my bateau bath when I do not have access to the underneath?
Firstly, don't worry. Bateau baths are very popular and so there simply must be a way of getting the bath fitted in your bathroom. Here's what we suggest:
Prop your bath up on its side and you will notice a plinth underneath. This allows you just enough room to get beneath the bath. Use a standard bath trap set from your plumbers merchant and begin by fitting the waste.
Your trap will have a U bend and a connecting pipe to lead into the floor – this will connect to the waste. The U bend should project below the floor surface. So make sure you have a hole in the floor!
Your U-bend can then be connected to the waste via a flexible hose - this will allow you to move the bath without dislodging any of the connections.

FREESTANDING ROLL TOP CLAW FOOTED BATHS
All our freestanding baths need an overflow waste and a bath trap. The overflow allows excess water to drain away safely without flooding your bathroom and the bath trap goes below the plug hole to take away waste water when you have finished bathing.
We recommend that when purchasing our baths, you buy our own Exposed Overflow Waste and Shallow Seal Bath Tap. This is simply because our waste requirements are not standard fittings and we cannot guarantee that if you purchase them elsewhere they will fit our baths.
And don't forget the taps! You have the choice of a bath with tap holes or without - you desired finish will dictate which taps you choose. We recommend a shroud to cover the exposed pipework.
BATEAU BATHS WITH OVERFLOW
We recommend purchasing the Exposed Overflow Waste with a bateau bath, you should not need our shallow seal bath trap as this is hidden

The issue of missing parts is a frequently asked question. We do ask you to check the contents at the time of delivery. If you think you are missing something, please call us straight away, so we can get a replacement part out to you as soon as possible. In most cases the parts are packaged carefully and stowed on the inside of the bath tub for delivery.
All baths are hand finished and checked before being packaged for delivery by courier. As part of that process we always fit your feet and level the bath prior to leaving our warehouse. We label each foot carefully so that you know where to fix it when you fit your bath.
Some bath feet will be supplied with washers however some will not – it all depends on your choice of bath. You may even find that the front two feet will come with them and the back two feet will not. This is normal; it may be to balance you bath and allow efficient draining.
If you perhaps have an old farmhouse with a sloping floor, or are fitting your

In our series of Frequently Asked Questions, one of the first things people ask is about the weight of a cast iron bath. And rightly so, they are very heavy if you try to lift them on your own.
As long as the building you are purchasing the bath for is structurally sound and meets building regulations, a cast iron bath will not be too heavy for the floor. Houses are built to withstand just such eventualities. Providing you don't have a really serous case of rotten floor boards, your home will be strong enough to hold the weight of your cast iron bath filled with water and a person or two.
Many of our baths (filled weight) are equivalent to having around 5 people stood in the bathroom at any given point. Just like being in the kitchen at a party! We have never had a case where the floor has collapsed purely under the weight of our baths. But if you are in any way unsure about the age and quality of the flooring in a building you are unsure, you may be best contacting a surveyor,

Though a single, simple colour might be an excellent way to show off your cast iron bath, there is so much more you can do with your bathroom décor. However, the truth is that luxury bathrooms are often the last place on earth people think to use pattern.

By their very nature bathrooms are clutter magnets. From face cloths and makeup, to scented candles and toilet rolls, the potential for aesthetic Armageddon is colossal. That’s why we’re a little obsessed with good storage. After all, who wants their gorgeous cast iron bath buried under a mountain of towels?
