Set within the rolling Salisbury Plains, this charming, thatched farmhouse was thoughtfully and beautifully transformed by award-winning interior architecture and design practice, ASJ Design. The refurbishment of both the main house and annex focused on enhancing the property for modern family living, while carefully preserving its rural character and heritage appeal.
The family bathroom is a standout space, showcasing refined detailing and luxurious finishes throughout. Ashbee and Stone traditional tapware was selected to sit harmoniously alongside the shaker-style bath and vanity, reinforcing the farmhouse aesthetic. Polished nickel taps introduce a subtle contemporary note while retaining a timeless quality.
This tapware plays a central role in the overall scheme. The polished nickel will naturally patina over time, developing a distinctive character unique to the home. Paired with brass door and window hardware, it creates a sophisticated mix of warm metals that harmonise beautifully. The result is a bathroom that feels both inviting and elevated; luxurious, yet perfectly in tune with the property’s rustic, country setting.
By combining traditional design cues with carefully considered modern finishes, ASJ Design has created bathrooms that feel entirely at home within the historic setting, while offering the comfort, durability and style expected of a contemporary country retreat.
